Babcock Fitzroy Integrated Logistic Support Services
Babcock Fitzroy assists companies to take an ILS approach that not only integrates logistic activities with those of other disciplines (notably design), but also integrates the Support Elements throughout the life cycle.
This approach, which is widely used in the military, is slowly being adopted by other large commercial industries, such as transport (railways) and mining to manage and reduce Life Cycle Costs (LCC).
Babcock Fitzroy is able to assist with the following:
- User Studies
- Logistic Support Analysis Candidate Items
- Availability, Reliability, Maintainability Plan
- ILS Data Management Plan
- Facilities Plan
- ILS Management Plan
- ILS Quality Plan
- Logistic Support Analysis Plan
- Maintenance Engineering Plan
- Packaging Handling Storage & Transportation Plan
- Supply Support Plan
- Support and Test Equipment Plan
- Technical Manual Organisation Plan
- Life Cycle Management Plan
Babcock Fitzroy has recently written a Life Cycle Management Plan (LCMP) for the Royal New Zealand Navies Anzac Frigates and will shortly be writing a LCMP for the New Zealand Defence Force Land C4 Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Capability.
ILS Introductory Course
The aim of the Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) Introductory Course is to provide an introduction to Integrated Logistic Support, as a life cycle discipline, in order to better participate in the life cycle management of a capability system.
The specific objectives of the course are to give participants an understanding of:
- The Capability Life Cycle;
- ILS as a life cycle discipline;
- The use and relevance of ILS in the life cycle;
- The support elements;
- ILS considerations in phases of the capability life cycle; and
- Support as a system within a capability system.
ILS Intermediate Course
The aim of this course is to provide practical knowledge of the application of Integrated Logistic Support and its related life cycle disciplines in the life cycle management of a capability system.
The specific objectives are to give participants a practical working knowledge of:
- The development of support concepts and systems;
- The application of ILS principles throughout the life cycle;
- Logistic support analysis;
- Life Cycle Costing;
- Reliability, Availability and Maintainability;
- Configuration management;
- Project management as it applies to the support system;
- Contracting of acquisition and support; and
- Supportability management.
Life Cycle Costing
The aim of the Life Cycle Costing course is to provide the participant with an understanding of Life Cycle Costing in order to better participate in identifying major cost drivers so that thoe cost drivers can be managed throughout the life cycle.
The objectives of the course are to:
- Define LCC; and
- Explain the effect of early decisions on LCC.
